Rabindranath Tagore Centre, ICCR Kolkata presents In its Horizon Series 'Bharat Tirtha' (The Pilgrimage of India) a presentation through dance and recitation by Prof. (Dr) Sruti Bandopadhay

Prof. (Dr) Sruti Bandopadhay is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and Professor in Dance at Rabindra Bharati University. A fulbright fellow, she has trained under famous personalities like Guru Bipin Singh, Smt. Kalavati Devi, and Padmasree Darshana Jhaveri. Among the many compositions to her credit are Alo, Bharat-Tirtha, Vasantarasa, and Gita Govinda.

The bilingual production "Bharat-Tirtha" depicts the unity in diversity of our country. The production is based on "Bharat- Tirtha" the poem of Rabindranath Tagore, from his Bengali anthology "Gitanjali", which portrays the pluralist character of India and describes the different racial streams which have through the ages merged in a pilgrimage into the multi textured fabric of the Indian civilization.
